COLUMBUS, Ohio — After a struggling start that lasted three games, Ohio State put its game together with a smashing 64-6 win over Utah in Ohio Stadium. The win was the 600th for the Buckeyes putting them in an elite group of schools.
Ohio State had 715 yards in total offense, a school record, and second-highest in Big Ten history.
Fullback George Cooper scored four TD’s and tailback Vince Workman added three. Freshman Jaymes Bryant started his first game for the Buckeyes and ran for 145 yards. Quarterback Jim Karsatos hit on 15 of 22 passes for 224 yards as the Buckeyes overwhelmed the Utes.
Coach Bruce substituted freely using 56 players, including ten different ball carriers.
Defensively Utah was held to a pair of field goals by an aggressive, alert Buckeye defense.
