Recap
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — All-American tailback Anthony Thompson put on a one-man show for the Hoosiers, rushing for four touchdowns and 190 yards on 32 carries. With the Indiana junior enjoying the best day of his career, the Hoosiers scored on five straight possessions and took a 35-0 lead before the Buckeyes countered with their only TD of the day, an eight-yard run by Jaymes Bryant.
In running their record to 4-0-1, the Hoosiers forced the Buckeyes into five turnovers, including three interceptions that resulted in IU touchdowns.
For the third straight game, the Buckeyes lost one of their top players. This time is was outside linebackers Michael McCray, an All-American candidate in his own right until a groin pull against the Hoosiers limited his playing time the rest of the season.
Carlos Snow started the game at tailback, but could go just two series. Bryant, moved back to tailback at the start of the week (from fullback), came off the bench to rush for a season-high 98 yards. But, on that day at least, he was no match for the inspired Thompson.
