2006 Media Guide: Walk-on who could wind up getting playing time this year as a backup center … is a rugged, hard-nosed football player who has impressed the coaches with his all-out approach to the game … not particularly big, but is exceptionally strong and has good quickness … doesn’t know the meaning of quit … can also play guard … played in six games last year in a mop-up role when starter Nick Mangold was rested … could have played at a lower level, but wanted to play for Jim Tressel at Ohio State.

2005: Appeared in six games … longest stint was six minutes against Illinois … also played five minutes the following week against Northwestern.

2004: Played on the scout team, but did not see any game action.

2003: Walked-on in the fall and was redshirted.

High School: Played three years of football … started at offensive and defensive tackle … Ironton went to the regional finals his sophomore year and to the semi-finals the next two years … won first-team all-state honors as a senior … played baseball for three years (first base) … won the state power lifting title as a senior.

Personal: Is the son of Tammy and David Vogelsong and Rich Whaley (played football briefly at Otterbein) … enjoys hunting and fishing and all outdoor sports.
