2015 Media Guide: Expect Raekwon McMillan this season to reinforce the popular sentiment that he is a rising talent among college linebackers … McMillan has a year of tutoring from coaches and Curtis Grant behind him, and Grant is now vying for a position in the National Football League with the San Diego Chargers … that leaves McMillan, instinctive and impressively quick to the ball, as Ohio State’s new man in the middle and he is expected to seize upon the opportunity … a true sophomore and a Varsity O letterwinner, McMillan is exploring majors in the areas of management and industry.

2014: McMillan earned snaps on defense at middle linebacker in 14 games and he played in all 15 games for the College Football Playoff national champions … he was named a freshman All-American by Athlon’s, 247Sports and Scout.com … he actually had more snaps at linebacker than the starter Grant in nine games, and he finished with 573 total plays, 471 of those on defense and 102 of them on special teams … McMillan made plays when he was in the game and finished No. 8 among Ohio State tacklers with 54 tackles, a total that included 6.5 tackles-for-loss (24 yards) and 2.5 sacks … he had an interception against Maryland that he returned 24 yards for a touchdown … he had a personal-best and team-leading seven tackles vs. Kent and he had six in games against Michigan and Wisconsin, the latter coming in the Big Ten championship game … he had a high of 2.5 TFLs, including two sacks, vs. Kent, and he also had 2.0 TFLs vs. Michigan.

High School: A four-year starter for coach Kirk Warner at Liberty County H.S., McMillan accumulated
456 tackles and 10 forced fumbles during his career … as a senior he totaled 159 tackles, 35.5 tackles-for-loss and 8.5 sacks for his 8-3 squad, and he also rushed for nearly 700 yards on offense … was named the Georgia Region 3 AAAA defensive player of the year and a first-team all-state pick after his senior season … a two-time Savannah Morning News player of the year … named a first-team Parade and USA Today All-American following his 2013 senior season … recorded five tackles in the 2014 Under Armour All American game.
