Major: Sociology (2014), Communications (2013), Undeclared (2011-12)

Weight: 240 (2014), 241 (2013), 235 (2012), 225 (2011)

2014 Media Guide: Curtis Grant, a physically imposing young man, is a true senior and one of the most experienced players on Ohio State’s defense with 30 games played and 13 starts … he has worked long and hard at his game and his efforts paid off with starting assignments in 12 games in 2013 … he enters his senior campaign with 62 career tackles and four tackles-for-loss.

2013 Media Guide: Curtis Grant is a physically imposing young man who is expected to be the team’s middle linebacker this season … he ranks second on the team in terms of seniority at the position, in part because there are no senior linebackers on the roster … he regained his confidence this past spring, according to Ohio State coaches, and his abilities were much more apparent as he displayed
a renewed passion and energy for the game … he enters the 2013 campaign having played in 18 games and with 10 total tackles … Grant also came out of the 2012 spring drills listed as the Buckeyes’
starting middle linebacker … he started the first three games of the season last year and came off the bench in five of the team’s final nine games … he recorded his personal best of three tackles against both Miami and Central Florida.

2012 Media Guide: Curtis came out of the 2012 spring drills listed as the Buckeyes’ starting middle linebacker … his spring ended short of the spring game because of a pinched nerve, but coaches liked what they saw of Grant before he was sidelined, and that’s a good thing: Coach Urban Meyer said at the start of the drills that Grant “has to be a player for us. If he’s not, we’ve got problems.”

2011: Curtis was considered the top-rated prospect in the Ohio State Class of 2011 recruits, but he wasn’t able to turn that lofty ranking into significant playing time as a freshman, and as a result managed mostly special teams action in 10 games … he recorded two tackles.

High School: Three-year all-Richmond metro defender … 134 tackles, 15 TFL, 6 sacks as a senior for Coach Patrick Kane … Parade All-America and USA Today all-USA … leading tackler for the East in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Personal: Son of Gloria Grant and Curtis Raynard Grant.
