Post-OSU Update: Vonn Bell left Ohio State after his true junior year to enter the NFL Draft. Bell was selected 61st overall (2nd round) by the New Orleans Saints. He has been a full-time starter since then, playing four years with the Saints, three with Cincinnati, and the 2023 season with the Carolina. He has seven interceptions, 15 forced fumbles, and close to 700 career tackles part-way through the 2023 season. (updated: Dec. 2023)

2015 Media Guide: Talented safety Vonn Bell is one of the top defensive playmakers in college football … he has stepped up to make some of his biggest plays on the biggest of stages, including an at-the-end-zone interception in the fourth quarter against No. 1 Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, an interception vs.
Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game, an interception to open the win last year over Michigan and an end zone interception in the Discover Orange Bowl as a true freshman … Bell has been in on 111 tackles his first two seasons with only Joshua Perry (193) and Tyvis Powell (124) in on more during that time … Bell also has recorded seven interceptions and 13 total pass break-ups to rank in a tie for first among Buckeyes (Eli Apple) in that all-important statistical category … a true junior, Bell has played in 29 games and started 15 times.

High School: Helped his Ridgeland team, coached by Mark Mariakis, to a 13-2 record and a runner-up finish in the Georgia Class AAAA state championships … Bell had 146 tackles and three interceptions as
a senior, and on offense he had over 1,700 all-purpose yards and scored 21 touchdowns … helped Ridgeland to the state Sweet 16 in 2011 as a junior with 119 tackles, five interceptions and three forced
fumbles.
