Post-OSU Update: Tracy Sprinkle was not selected in the 2018 NFL Draft. He spent time with several NFL teams, but never appeared in a regular season game. Sprinkle played in both the XFL and CFL. He is now the general manager of a steel fabrication company. (updated: Jan. 2024)

2017 Media Guide: Tracy Sprinkle is a fifth-year senior and one of the leaders of a deep and talented defensive line … he worked hard to become a starter for the Buckeyes but injured a knee in his first
career start last year, and now he is working hard to become a starter once again … he has played in 17 games and has earned one Varsity O letter … he graduated in May 2017 with his degree in family resource management.

2016: Sprinkle’s development and progression continued, going from three games as a red-shirt freshman in 2014 to playing in all 13 games in 2015 to earning a starting assignment for Game 1 in 2016 against Bowling Green … his season came to a screeching halt, though, after just 14 plays against the Falcons when he suffered a knee injury that required surgery and rehabilitation through the 2017 spring drills.

2016 Media Guide: Tracy Sprinkle has progressed from playing in three games as a red-shirt freshman in 2014 to playing in all 13 games for the Buckeyes last season to being counted on as a leader on the
interior line this year and a significant contributor … Sprinkle rose to the occasion, was complimented by coaches as a leader throughout spring and now finds himself one good fall camp away from a potential starting position … a fourth-year junior, Sprinkle is near the top of the experience charts among returning tackles with 16 games played and 209 plays … he earned his first Varsity O letter last season.

2015: Sprinkle played in all 13 games for the 12-1, Fiesta Bowl-winning Buckeyes and contributed four tackles and recovered a fumble from his defensive tackle position … he was in tackle rotation all season and his playing time increased throughout the season, topped by a 60-play performance in the Fiesta Bowl win over Notre Dame that included 49 snaps on defense … had his high of two tackles in the win over Virginia Tech.

2015 Media Guide: Tracy Sprinkle is a third-year sophomore with the program … he played in three games as a freshman in 2014 for the College Football Playoff national champions: Kent State, Rutgers and the Big Ten championship game vs. Wisconsin.

2013 Media Guide: Tracy Sprinkle was one of five Buckeyes in the 2013 recruiting class to enroll at Ohio State in January 2013 and take part in spring drills.

High School: The 2012 Associated Press first-team all-Ohio selection and Division I co-defensive player of the year, Sprinkle recorded 19 sacks and 30 total tackles-for-loss among his 103 tackles as a senior … dominant games included five sacks against Amherst Steele and four sacks (and 12 tackles) against Hudson … the first defensive player since Matt Wilhelm in 1999 to win the prestigious Lorain County Golden Helmet award as the best player in the county … also was named the Northeast Ohio All-Lake District Defensive Player of the Year as a senior … Elyria, coached by Kevin Fell, was 7-3 in both 2012 and 2011 … Sprinkle, a Top 30 strong side defensive end by 247Sports, had 27 sacks his final two seasons of play … he was a third-team all-state pick as a junior after making 94 tackles and eight sacks … Elyria High’s Chase Farris is a third-year sophomore offensive lineman at Ohio State.
