2014 Media Guide: Tommy Schutt is a two-year letter-winner who has played in 17 games the past two seasons … a true junior defensive tackle who commands attention, Schutt has started twice – as a true freshman vs. Central Florida and last year vs. Illinois – and has recorded seven career tackles.
2013: Schutt is coming off a 2013 campaign that didn’t get cranked up until mid-season as a foot injury and subsequent surgery in fall camp kept him out of the team’s first six games … he played in seven of the final eight games of the season, including a start vs. Illinois … he was in on a career-high 39 plays vs. Illinois and 25 the next week vs. Indiana … was credited with three tackles, including a half-sack vs. Northwestern for minus-2 yards.
2013 Media Guide: Tommy Schutt is in his second season with the Buckeyes after lettering in 2012 for the undefeated, Big Ten Leaders Division champions … practiced and played well enough last year to get playing time in 10 games … started in the team’s second game of the season, vs. Central Florida, and played a personal high 21 snaps on defense … was in on 85 plays for the season … totaled four tackles plus an important quarterback “hurry” in the overtime win vs. Wisconsin.

amassed 33 career sacks, 45 tackles-for-loss, 21 batted balls and eleven forced fumbles … earned
all-state honors three consecutive years, including by the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association and the Chicago Tribune as a junior and senior … named ESPNChicago.com defensive player of the year after senior season that included 73 tackles and 23.5 tackles-for-loss, including 14.5
