2024 Media Guide: Sonny Styles is a terrific athlete and player who has played multiple positions on the field for the Buckeyes and will line up at linebacker in 2024 … he made the switch to linebacker full-time in the spring of 2024 … enters the 2024 campaign having played in 25 games with 12 starts … has recorded 62 tackles and 4.5 tackles-for-loss.

2023: Coming off a 2023 season in which he started 12 games at safety … ranked fifth on the team with 53 tackles and ranked fourth with 32 solo tackles … set his career high with seven tackles twice: vs. Michigan and initially vs. Rutgers … also had a career-best four solo tackles in the Michigan game.

High School: Had 55 total tackles in 11 games for Pickerington Central in the fall of 2021 … added two interceptions, two passes defended a block punt and one forced fumble … had a team-best four interceptions as a sophomore and 33 tackles in just seven games.

Personal: Is the son of Lorenzo Styles, who played for the Buckeyes in 1992-94 before a six-year NFL career … his mother is Laverna Styles, also an Ohio State graduate … has an older brother, Lorenzo Styles Jr., who started his collegiate career as a wide receiver at Notre Dame but transferred to Ohio State for the 2023 season.
