1991 Media Guide: Trying to overcome a series of back problems that have sidelined him for the better part of two seasons … played in just one game in 1989 and did not see any action last year … had disk surgery in December of ’89 and had follow-up surgery last year … did practice last spring and now appears to be fully recovered … big, strong lineman who can simply overpower defensive lineman … if he can stay healthy, he will be a valuable addition to the offensive line mix.

1990 Media Guide: Bothered by a bad back last year and played in just one game … had disc surgery Dec. 10 and missed spring practice, but rehab is on schedule and he is expected back in the fall … will play strong tackle when he returns … the Buckeyes’ biggest lineman … has been able to simply overpower people through-out much of his career, but has spent countless hours at Ohio State working to improve his technique … needs to add strength.

1989: Only action was three minutes against Oklahoma State.

1989 Media Guide: Promising player who has the size to become a dominant lineman … has been able to simply overpower people in the past, but must now work on improving his technique … played well in the spring … increased his strength over the winter, but will become much stronger as he matures … will play on the strong side.

1988: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: A consensus all-Ohio and All-American selection as a senior … Middletown posted a 9-3 record his senior year and made the state playoffs for the first time in the school’s history … started as a junior and senior and understudied current Buckeye teammate John Peterson as a sophomore … captained the team as a senior.

PERSONAL: Hobbies are bike riding, drawing and swimming … wants to teach and coach after his playing career is over.
