High School: Lined up at guard in the Golden Gales’ wing-T offense … a two-time Associated Press all-state performer, with first-team Division I honors in 2013 and special mention accolades in 2012 … all-Ohio Capital Conference … coached by Rob Carpenter … played three seasons of basketball and also competed in track and field in high school … seventh in the shot and eighth in the discus at 2013 Ohio state outdoor track and field championships … comes from same town and school as former Buckeyes Jim Cordle, currently a center with the New York Giants, and Bobby Carpenter, who spent nearly six years in the league after being a first-round draft pick in 2006 of the Dallas Cowboys.
