1993 Media Guide: All-America candidate at defensive end … one of the mainstays of the Ohio State defense … in his third year as a starter … ironman who always ranks among the team leaders in minutes played … a leader by example … superb football player who has re-written the OSU records book in terms of tackles for loss and sacks … deceptively quick and strong and has great technique … has been a big-play player throughout his career … started as a freshman and junior and was a top reserve as a sophomore … won first-team all-Big Ten honors in 1991 even though he did not start … was a second-team all-conference pick last year … finished the 1992 campaign with 44 tackles, including a team high 14 tackles for loss, the second straight year that he has paced the Buckeyes in that department. .. also had five sacks last year, second only to Dan Wilkinson’s 6.5 … top game last year in terms of tackles was seven against both Bowling Green and Illinois … either a sack or a tackle for loss in 10 of OSU’s 12 games last year.

1992 Media Guide: Tremendous football player who seems to improve with each game … has deceptive speed, is a good technician and has a thorough understanding of the game … won first-team all-Big Ten honors last year even though he did not start … will start this year on the rush side, where the Buckeyes can best take advantage of his pass rushing skills … set an assortment of team records last year, including marks for single-season tackles for loss (18.5), single-season sacks (10.5), single-season lost yardage (103) and single-game sacks (4 vs. Washington State) … had a sack or tackle for loss in seven of OSU’s 12 games … had four tackles for loss against Indiana … selected as Big Ten and The Sporting News Player of the Week on the heels of his performance against the Hoosiers … finished third in the Big Ten in tackles for loss and fourth in sacks … has 30.5 tackles for loss and 15.5 sacks the past two years … well on his way to breaking all existing OSU records in those two categories.

1991 Media Guide: Took over for John Kacherski last year and started the last 11 games … logged an ironman-like 273 minutes of playing time, the fifth highest total on the team … finished the year with 56 total tackles, sixth best on the OSU defense … also had 12 tackles for losses and five quarterback sacks to rank second on the team in those two key statistical categories … top game was at Iowa, where his eight tackles included three for losses and two sacks, a performance that earned him Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week laurels … has improved steadily since coming to Ohio State and has the potential to be an outstanding player.

1990 Media Guide: Redshirted last year … one of the most pleasant surprises of the spring … will play behind Kacherski as a rush outside linebacker … a steady, dependable athlete, who seemed to get better every practice and really turned heads with his performances in the last two spring scrimmages … has the size and speed to be an excellent pass rusher.

1990: Started the last 11 games after regular John Kacherski was lost for the year with a knee injury … wound up second on the team in tackles for loss and sacks.

1989: Redshirted in the fall, but caught the coaching staff’s attention in the spring.

HIGH SCHOOL: Second team all-state as a senior … helped his team to a 12-1 record and the state title as a senior … recorded 54 solo tackles, and helped the Irish average over 250 yards rushing as a senior … led the defense to six shutouts in his final campaign … has 4.8 speed in the 40 … played on the basketball team, but gave it up as a senior to concentrate on his weight program.

PERSONAL: Interested in a career in either sports medicine or physical therapy (1990) … career objective is to work for the FBI (1991) … lists his hobbies as hunting, fishing and reading.
