Post-OSU Update: Jamarco Jones was selected in the fifth round (168th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. Jones was injured before the 2018 season and missed the year. offensive plays from scrimmage and an anchor at the left tackle spot for the Buckeyes … he is a three-time Varsity O letterwinner … Jones is the next in line at a marquee position for the Buckeyes as the last three fulltime offensive tackles – Mike Adams, Jack Mewhort and Taylor Decker – were drafted into the NFL and a fourth – Alex Boone – is entering his eighth year in the league … Jones spent two seasons as Decker’s back-up before Decker was taken in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, No. 16 overall, by the Detroit Lions.

2016: Jones was one of three new starters for the Buckeyes along the offensive line and he ended up having an outstanding season … he not only earned all-conference honors, but helped Ohio State lead the Big Ten in rushing and rank 11th nationally at 245.2 yards per game … the line was one of three units nationally selected as a finalist for the Joe Moore Offensive Line of the Year Award.

2016 Media Guide: Jamarco Jones will be a starting tackle for the Buckeyes in 2016 … coach Urban Meyer announced to the team in mid-April that Jones, a true junior who has earned two Varsity O letters, has earned the opportunity to be a starter along the offensive line for the Buckeyes … Jones has played in 23 games over the past two seasons and been on the field for 134 offensive snaps plus an additional 109 special teams snaps … he is the third-most experienced lineman on the team, next to Pat Elflein and Billy Price.

2015: The sixth man along the offensive line all season, Jones played in all 13 games for the 12-1 Buckeyes, including seven games in which he lined up on offense (vs. just special teams situations) … was in on 131 plays and had six games where he was in on double-figure play totals, including a high of 16 plays vs. Hawai’i and Maryland and 15 vs. both Rutgers and Illinois.

2015 Media Guide: Jamarco Jones is in his second year with the Buckeyes … he earned his first Varsity O letter in 2014 as he played in 10 games as a true freshman for the College Football Playoff national champions … played 41 snaps vs. Kent State and had a Big Ten-game high of 19 snaps on offense vs. Rutgers … was in for 112 plays for the season … is exploring majors in the area of management and industry.

2014 Media Guide: Jamarco Jones was a consensus four-star prospect and a Top 100 player nationally … he was rated as high as the 63rd-best player in the nation overall by Scout and he also had high overall rankings of No. 74 (ESPN), No. 76 (247Sports) and No. 94 (Rivals) … among the 10 best offensive tackle prospects nationally, with No. 6 rankings by both Scout and ESPN and No. 7 rankings by Rivals and 247Sports.

High School: Despite missing first half of his senior season with a shoulder injury, Jones earned Illinois Coaches Association first team Class 6A all-state honors and Champaign News-Gazette all state accolades … helped De La Salle, under the direction of coach Dan O’Keefe, to the second round of the Illinois Class 6A state playoffs … a 2014 Under Armour All-American Game participant and two-time all-Chicago Catholic League honoree.
