He continues to learn OSU’s defensive schemes and philosophies, taking advantage of a redshirt season last year. “Fred came to us highly regarded,” Jim Heacock, defensive line coach, said. “He has good instincts and the ability to become a good rusher for us.”

High School: Considered a Top 10 defensive line prospect nationally by The National Recruiting Advisor … recorded 100 tackles and 25 tackles-for-loss, including 15 quarterback sacks, as a senior for 11-1, state playoff-qualifying Plantation High team … recorded 103 tackles and nine sacks as a junior for 12-1 team which also advanced to the state playoffs … the son of Norma Brown.
