2013 Media Guide: Corey Brown is a fifth-year senior with the football program and a three-year letterwinner … he is coming off a fine spring campaign, during which time he practiced primarily as one of the team’s top nickel backs but also was in the lineup in the team’s dime packages and as a strong safety … he was good enough this spring, in fact, that coach Urban Meyer said he hoped he would be this year’s Reid Fragel (a senior who really steps up as a senior and shines as a football player and also as a serious young man about to take the next major step in life) … Brown enters 2013 having played in 33 games … he has 11 career tackles, a total that includes a career-high four in a 2010 game vs. Purdue … His rise this spring coincides with the fact he had significant playing time last year in all 12 games for the undefeated Buckeyes … he was on the field for 223 plays from the line of scrimmage while in the nickel position … included was career-highs of 63 plays vs. Alabama-Birmingham and 61 vs. Miami … also had 128 plays on special teams.

of intent in February of 2009 and he red-shirted the 2009 season as a Buckeye … he has since played in 21 games, eight in 2010 and all 13 this past season, and he is a two-year letterwinner … he enters the 2012 season with nine career tackles – and a career-high four in 2010 vs. Purdue – and he came out of the 2012 spring drills listed as a back-up to Christian Bryant at one of the safety positions.

2010: Young corner who hails from Pittsburgh … 4 tackles in the Eastern Michigan win … switched to jersey #9 before the Purdue game, but has since switched back … knee injury against Purdue required season-ending surgery … first-year letterman.

2010 Media Guide: Tough, physical cornerback prospect with exceptional ball skills … quick and explosive … will work this spring practice behind Chimdi Chekwa and Travis Howard.

2009: Redshirted for the Rose Bowl and Big Ten champions.
