2016 Media Guide: Cam Burrows is a talented defensive back who came into Ohio State as a cornerback in 2013 but has played safety in each of the past two seasons (2014 and 2015) … has been competing against the likes of players like Vonn Bell (a 2016 second-round NFL Draft pick of New Orleans) and Tyvis Powell (a free agent with Seattle) for playing time, and he has also battled through a foot injury that limited him to just three appearances in 2015 and ultimately a red-shirt campaign … he enters 2016 healthy, once again, and in competition with Malik Hooker and Erick Smith for the starting safety positions that Powell and Bell manned for the past two seasons … Burrows, an OSU Scholar-Athlete last year and who graduated this spring with his degree in criminology, has played in 29 games and has earned two Varsity O letters … he has recorded 31 career tackles and five pass break-ups.

2015: Burrows played a total of 29 plays in three of the team’s first four games as a back-up safety before a foot injury ended his season.

2015 Media Guide: Cam Burrows is a talented defensive back who has played both cornerback (in 2013) and safety (2014) in his first two seasons with the Buckeyes … has been vying for a starting role in each of his seasons and has earned valuable playing time with 26 game appearances that have earned him two Varsity O letters … has recorded 28 career tackles and four pass break-ups.

2014: Burrows played in 14 games for the College Football Playoff national champions including lining up at safety in 12 games … was in on 296 defensive and special teams plays; third-most among the safeties … was in on 17 tackles – 10 of those solo – and had pass break-ups against Cincinnati and vs. Wisconsin in the Big Ten championship game … had four tackles in the season opener vs. Navy and had three stops vs. Kent, Rutgers and Michigan State … did not wear his typical No. 16 jersey vs. Oregon in the national title game – or in practices leading up to the game – as Ohio State was out to “eliminate 16” … as a result, he wore jersey No. 8 vs. the Beavers.

2014 Media Guide: Cam Burrows is a talented defensive back who played cornerback as a true freshman in 2013 but will compete for playing time at safety in 2014 … Burrows made the move to the
safety position early in 2014 and practiced there throughout spring drills … he played alongside another sophomore safety (Tyvis Powell) while a third sophomore safety – Vonn Bell – missed spring after having knee surgery.

2013 Media Guide: Cam Burrows was Ohio State’s first commitment to the 2013 class when he announced in January 2012 that he would be a Buckeye … he was also among the first to arrive at
Ohio State, as he was one of five Class of 2013 recruits to enroll in school in January.

High School: A first-team Associated Press all-state selection as a junior and senior, Burrows helped lead Trotwood Madison to three consecutive Division II state championship games, including an unbeaten, 15-0 state-title winning season in 2011 … had 14 pass break-ups as a senior for coach Maurice Douglass’ 12-3 state finalist team and also had 39 tackles … a consensus four-star cornerback (ESPN, Rivals, Scout, 247Sports) who was the No. 38 prospect nationally (Rivals), an ESPN 150 performer (No. 62) and the No. 2 senior in Ohio (ESPN) … played in the 2013 Under Armour All-American game … a two-time state track finalist in the sprint relays … the first from his high school to sign with Ohio State since Will Allen (Class of 2000), who committed while at Trotwood Madison before transferring to Huber Heights Wayne for his senior year.

Personal: Burrows is the son of Dionne and Andre Burrows … his brother, Chris, is a senior track and field performer for Arizona State University.
