Post-OSU Update: After a redshirt season, Tom Bolyard transferred to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and quarterbacked the team to a JUCO National Championship. Bolyard then transferred to Indiana, where he was successful as a punter, averaging 43.1 yards per punt in 1988. He also threw 57 passes for 401 yards (2 TDs and 2 INTs) as a senior. High School: An all-Ohio quarterback at Orrville High in 1984, leading Orrville to an 11-1 record … started at quarterback for three years and also was a regular defensive back his junior and senior years … also was the regular punter for four years … completed 82 of 152 passes for 1,249 yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior … averaged 42.1 yards per punt in 1984 … passed for 2,785 yards in his career, including 33 touchdowns … captained his high school football, basketball and baseball teams … averaged 23 points per game in basketball as a senior.
Personal: At age 11, he won the Ohio Punt, Pass and Kick competition and advanced to the national semi-finals in Houston … hobbies are hunting and fishing.
