1985 Media Guide: Missed all of spring practice playing outfield on the Buckeye baseball team and hit .310.

1984: Won a letter, though injuries limited his playing time to 48.5 minutes … started three games, including the opener with Oregon State and the Rose Bowl against USC … made 17 tackles and intercepted one pass.

1983: Played in all 12 games for a total of 119.5 minutes and won a letter … started against Iowa and Illinois … made 37 tackles and caused two fumbles with hard hits.

1982: A freshman redshirt.

High School: Played safety on defense and tailback on offense at Choctowatchee High School … ran for 502 yards and had 415 yards in pass receiving as a senior … a two-time all-Florida defensive back … won high school letters in football, basketball and track … captained the football and track teams.

Personal: Father is in the U.S. Air Force and Steve has lived in a variety of places … his parent currently live in London, England … hobbies are water skiing and music … wants to own a business … admires Nolan Cromwell and Billy Sims.
