2024 Media Guide: Mitchell is in his fifth year with the program and has two seasons of eligibility … He has played at both linebacker and at defensive end but has settled in at end, a position he played all of 2023.

2023: After missing both the 2021 and 2022 campaigns because of injury, he had his best season as a Buckeye in 2023, playing in 12 of 13 games and totaling 119 plays on both defense and special teams … Recorded three solo tackles on the season, all of them tackles-for-loss totaling 13 yards with one of those his first quarterback sack … Two of his TFLs came against Western Kentucky, including his quarterback sack, and his third TFL came against Purdue.

High School: As a senior, helped Good Counsel High School and head coach Andy Stefanelli win the coveted Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship with a 16-14 victory over St. John’s … finished his senior season with 97 tackles, 16 TFLs, an interception, four FFs, eight PBUs, and a school-record 20 sacks … WCAC Defensive Player of the Year and first-team defense (linebacker) … had eight tackles, 3.5 sacks and one pass breakup in a WCAC semifinal win over Gonzaga and two more sacks in the championship game … NBC Sports Washington’s All-DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) football team – Defensive Student-Athlete of the Year … Washington Post All-Met 2019 Football Team – Defensive Student-Athlete of the Year.
