Post-OSU Update: Marcelys Jones left the Buckeyes in June of 2015 and transferred to Kentucky. Two months later, Jones was dismissed from the Wildcats team for an undisclosed violation of team rules. In 2017, he resurfaced with DII Winston-Salem State, playing four games. In 2018 he was on the roster for Urbana University’s football team. (updated: Aug. 2025)

High School: He is among 20 of Coach Ted Ginn’s Cleveland Glenville Tarblooders to attend Ohio State on a football scholarship in the last 13 seasons, dating to 2002 … as a senior, Jones was the foundation along the offensive line in Glenville’s 13-2 campaign that included a run to the state championship game … he was named first-team Associated Press Division II all-state as a senior … Jones was rated among the top 50 offensive tackles by both Scout (No. 39) and ESPN (No. 49) and he was listed as the No. 13 guard by 247Sports and the No. 17 guard nationally by Rivals … Jones was selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January … he is one of three in this signing class from Glenville, along with CB Marshon Lattimore and SAF Erick Smith.
