1984: Played in eight games and had seven starting assignments … a strong, physical football player who had 74 stops in 1984, third highest on the squad, even though he missed four games … had a vital 25-yard interception return for a touchdown in the Iowa game … recovered two fumbles and caused another.

1984 Media Guide: Even though he has only 33 minutes of playing time since enrolling at Ohio State, Buckeye coaches expect him to start at inside linebacker … had little opportunity to play in 1981 and ’82 with Marcus Marek and Glen Cobb as established linebackers … bench presses 405 pounds and lifts 725 … had an excellent spring practice.

High School: Played linebacker at Smithville High, where he was named “Class AA Lineman of the Year” in 1980 … won all-Ohio honors as a linebacker … ran for 987 yards on 160 carries at fullback his senior year … won the Ohio shot put championship.

Personal: Hobbies are lifting weights and sports … works in construction over the summer.
