Major: Sociology (1997), Undecided (1995-96)
Weight: 165 (1995-97)
1997 Media Guide: Has terrific speed … could also be used as a kick returner.
1996: Saw brief action in three games, logging a total of 19 minutes … longest stint of the year was eight minutes against Pittsburgh … also played five minutes against Rice and six against Penn State … lone reception of the year was a 22-yard grab against Pitt for his first career catch … worked his way into a six-man rotation last year on the basis of a solid spring showing in 1996 and a good fall camp.
1996 Media Guide: Reserve split end … did not see any playing time last year as a true freshman … has burning speed and does a good job of separating from the defensive back … could see action this year when the Buckeyes employ a third wide receiver … is a threat on the streak because of his speed … also likes to run the post … needs to get stronger, but had a good spring and should just keep moving up the depth chart … still learning … should help, too, on the special teams.
High School: Grabbed 43 receptions for 594 vards and seven touchdowns last year … also a return specialist who gained nearly 300 yards on punt and kickoff returns, including one kickoff return for a touchdown … helped his team go 11-1 last fall and reach the state Class 5A (large school) playoff quarterfinals … an all-metro and all-district selection … saw brief action in the secondary, and recorded three quarterback sacks and recovered a fumble … also a track standout who won the state title in the long jump as a junior (24 feet).
Other: Hobbies include watching college football games and collecting baseball cards … honor student who plans to major in business at Ohio State.
