Post-OSU Update: Ja’Had Carter transferred to North Carolina State after the 2023 season, his only year with the Buckeyes. Carter played five games with the Wolfpack, recording 15 tackles and one PBU before being dropped from the roster. No official reason was given for his departure. (updated: May 2025)

2023 Media Guide: Ja’Had transferred to Ohio State from Syracuse University in January of 2023 and has two seasons of eligibility remaining … he practiced throughout spring drills.

Syracuse (2020-22): Honorable mention All-ACC for Syracuse … played in 31 games and started 28 times (10 starts in 2020 and 2022 and eight in 2021) … recorded 138 career tackles for the Orangemen (97 solo), five interceptions, seven pass break-ups, two fumble recoveries a defensive touchdown and a forced fumble … led the team with three interceptions in 2022, in consecutive games vs. Clemson, Notre Dame and Pitt … also had a 90-yard fumble recover for a touchdown in the Clemson game … second on the team in 2020 with 67 total tackles … recorded interceptions in 2020 vs. Notre Dame and Georgia Tech.
