2019 Media Guide: J.P. Andrade committed to Ohio State in April of 2019 as a preferred walk-on, turning down scholarship offers from South Alabama, Fordham and Morehead State in the process and preferred walk-on status at a Southeastern Conference school.

High School: Andrade led all state of California passers in completions as a senior in 2018 for coach Steve Bogan and Bonita High School, completing 299 of his 449 attempts for 4,366 yards and 39 touchdowns, all of which are school records … named offensive MVP of the Palomares League in 2019 after leading Bonita to a 10-3 season on the field … also named the Saginaw Valley Tribune player of the year … threw for 9,423 yards in his career including finishing No. 3 in California history with 702 completions … a Nike regional invitee to The Open … two-time team captain as a junior and a senior.
