Post-OSU Update: Darrell Lewis transferred from Ohio State following the 1990 season, claiming OSU’s coaching staff was “too domineering” and voicing frustration regarding the medical staff. He continued his college football at San Diego State, picking off seven passes over three years, returning one for a touchdown. (updated: Nov. 2022)

1990 Media Guide: Played in 10 games last year as a freshman, seeing action as a reserve safety and as a member of the specialty teams … had 16 tackles and one pass broken-up …top games were Boston College and Purdue (four tackles) … plays the ball very well and hits with authority … missed spring practice because of a severe abdominal pull, but is expected back in the fall … a valuable backup, who can play either safety position.

PERSONAL: Married his high school girl friend this past March … his wife, Dawn, is a model … enjoys playing basketball.
