Post-OSU Update: Clarence “Curt” Curtis suffered a serious injury in practice after the regular season-ending loss to Illinois in 1983. He ran through a glass door at Ohio State’s training facility, severing his Achilles’ tendon and almost slicing off his entire calf muscle. He sued Ohio State for $2 million, citing unsafe practice facilities. Curtis lost the trial, as well as an appeal. (updated: Apr. 2024)
