Major: Communications (1983)

Weight: 272 (1983), 268 (1982), 258 (1981), 248 (1980)

1983 Media Guide: The most experienced member on the Ohio State squad with a career total of 33 games, including 24 starts, for a total of 750.5 minutes of playing time … has started every game the past two years … chosen co-captain on offense for 1983.

1982: A second team all-Big Ten player in 1982 and a good bet for All-America recognition this year.

1982 Media Guide: One of the steadiest tackles in the Big Ten … should be one of the Big Ten’s best this year … timed at 4.9 in the 40, good for his size and youth … works hard and pays attention to detail … a good candidate to be another in a long line of outstanding Ohio State tackles.

1981: Started all 12 games and played 334.5 minutes, second-highest on offense.

1981 Media Guide: Expected to start at left tackle for Ohio State … has good agility and impressive strength.

1980: Lettered as a freshman, playing 85 minutes.

High School: Was an all-Florida tackle at Carol City High, where he captained the football and basketball teams … his top football thrill came in high school when he was the lead blocker for a teammate who fumbled and Roberts picked up the ball and scored.

Personal: Hobbies are playing pinball and fishing … admires Chris Ward, former Ohio State All-American, and Sugar Ray Leonard … father is a teacher.
