2013 Media Guide: Adam Griffin is a fourth-year junior whose hard work on and off the playing field is resulting in increased playing time and a leadership role on the team … a key member of multiple special teams, he played in all 12 games for the undefeated Buckeyes in 2012 and recorded 13 tackles … he made one of the outstanding special teams plays of the season in the third quarter against Penn State, reading a fake punt attempt and batting down a potential first-down pass on fourth-and-nine from the OSU 43 and the Buckeyes leading, 14-10 … had a career-high three tackles vs. Penn State, as well … was one of two Buckeye skill players (CB Doran Grant) to earn the Iron Buckeye Award for winter 2013 … the award is given to the student-athlete(s) who best exemplifies unquestionable physical training dedication, determination, discipline, toughness and leadership in his third year with the football
program … Griffin was a reserve on special teams during the 2011 season and played in four games … saw his first collegiate action against Penn State, making one tackle in the game.

Personal: Son of Bonita and Archie Griffin … dad Archie, a Buckeye Hall of Famer and the only two-time winner of the Heisman Trophy, lettered from 1972-75 at Ohio State .
